Stem Cell Therapy in Glen Mills: Dr. Eric Balcavage utilizes the latest in technology to provide patients with safe & effective alternative health care options.
After over a year of research and collaborating with doctors around the country to gain knowledge and proof of results, we made the decision to bring this game changing therapy to our patients. Together with our Pennsylvania Board Certified Nurse Practitioner and Medical Director, we use the most advanced and personalized protocols to address your condition. The key advantage for this type of stem cell therapy is that it does not require any surgery and the results have proven to far exceed the common surgery-based autologous procedures. So, your recovery is faster with less potential for complications.
There is a time and place for medication and surgery, and finally there is a safe and effective place for regenerative biologics such as stem cell therapy.

How Stem Cell Therapy Works
Chronic Condition Regenerative Center utilizes cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells. They are known as HUCT (human umbilical cord tissue) stem cells.
Among many other things, mesenchymal stem cells from the umbilical cord tissue are known to have three very important properties:
- Help reduce inflammation
- Modulate the immune system and
- Secrete factors that helps tissue to regenerate
Because HUCT stem cells are less mature than other cells, the body’s immune system is unable to recognize them as foreign and therefore they are not rejected. Thousands of patients have been treated with umbilical cord stem cells and there has never been a single instance rejection. HUCT stem cells also proliferate more efficiently than “older” cells, such as those found in the bone marrow and therefore, they are considered to be more potent.
What are mesenchymal cells?
In scientific terms, they are multipotent stromal cells that can differentiate into a limited variety of cell types, including cartilage, bone, and muscle. Hence the term Multipotent meaning “multiple potential”. Multipotent progenitor (stem) cells can only differentiate into discrete cell types, and divide a limited number of times. This is naturally occurring built-in safety system to prevent undesired cell production and division.
Simply stated, HUCT stem cells have an innate intelligence and activate the body’s own self-healing mechanisms. They seek out inflammation and degeneration. They go where your body needs them to go and become what your body needs them to become. They are the building blocks of all of the tissue and organs in the human body. In other words, they give your body a boost of fresh, very young stem cells to help with regeneration. Our stem cells age with us and we lose a significant percentage over time. That’s why at about age 35, we can’t recover like we used to.
What do mesenchymal stem cells do?
- Seek out degeneration: They build, repair and grow new tissue
- Anti-inflammatory: They are effective in reducing inflammation and pain
- Immunomodulatory: They help modulate the body’s immune responses
Conditions Treated by Stem Cell Therapy:
- Knee injuries (MCL, ACL, PCL, LCL Sprains or Tears)
- Hip or Labral Tears
- Shoulder Damage
- Chronic and Lower Back Pain
- Chronic Neck Pain
- Wrist or Elbow
- Achilles Tendon
- Ankle Pain, Foot Pain
- Plantar Fasciitis
The Safety of Stem Cell Therapy
Umbilical cord stem cells reside in the umbilical cords from healthy newborn babies and healthy mothers. HUCT stem cells, like all post-natal cells, are categorized as “adult” stem cells. The umbilical cord tissue is donated by pre-screened healthy mothers and healthy babies in the United States. We abide by the most stringent FDA and medical guidelines. Your safety, results and comfort are our top concern. The cells are rigorously tested and screened under National Institutes of Health (NIH), FDA, American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) guidelines.
We selected HUCT-MSC stem cell therapy for a number of reasons:
- HUCT cells contain the most potent mesenchymal stem cells available and therefore garner the best regenerative results.
- It is the safest stem cell therapy option and does not require surgery.
- There are no negative side effects and the cells are undifferentiated, therefore the body does not reject them. In fact, HUCT cells have been used for over thirty-five years to help reduce the chance of organ transplant rejection.
What is the Difference Between Stem Cell Therapy and Other Treatments?
The biggest difference is that this treatment can be “curative” in nature. Every other type of drug or treatment is “masking” the symptoms. The most obvious difference is safety of this treatment versus anything else.
- You are not in a hospital subjected to “super germs”
- There is no risky surgery being done or anesthesia.
- There is no six weeks of bed rest or “light duty”.
- Our procedure takes less than a half hour and is done in our clinic.
Note: It is recommended that you take it easy for 2 days after the procedure.

I’ve had 3 years of constant lower right back pain that 9 different medical doctors could not find a reason or cure for. After only a few short cold laser, and decompression therapy sessions the pain is markedly reduced to the point I NO LONGER use the pain medication prescribed by my primary care physician. I feel that in just a few more visits I will be PAIN FREE. Dr. Balcavage and his staff work with you and LISTEN to you to address your problem, NOT MEDICATE you! They also fit to your schedule, not theirs. I would definitely recommend Dr. Balcavage to anyone experiencing back pain.
